Homemade Salt Dough Christmas Ornaments
I love the tradition and memory of making your own ornaments! And when you make them out of something as simple and easy as salt-dough you don’t feel like you’re in over your (DIY) head! Plus you probably have the ingredients in your pantry already. That’s a win-win for busy, unorganized mommin’ like me. 😀
For memories’ sake, we used Luke and Leo’s hand and footprints to make some we will cherish forever – or for as long as they hold up!
I also made a dozen star ornaments for a photo garland. I’m going to paint them gold,string them together, and add mini clothespins to hold Christmas cards.

Here’s the recipe so you can make your own:
• 2 cups flour
• 1 cup salt
• 3/4 cup water
(If too dry, add water. If too wet, add flour.) Use a straw to make the ribbon hole for hanging. Leave out for a few days to dry or bake in the oven at 200 degrees for 2-3 hours. I let mine sit out to dry for a few days and they didn’t crack or break.
You can use cookie cutters, hand prints, foot prints, food coloring in the dough, paint after they’re dry, shapes, toy imprints, whatever you want!
